Inlays & Onlays

If you have a small cavity in your tooth which needs filling, an inlay or onlay could be the perfect restoration to get your smile gleaming again. Having a brand new and improved smile could also raise your confidence—there are endless benefits to inlays and onlays.

I have used this dentist practice for over 20 years , always a very friendly professional service

A little like a traditional filling, an inlay fits securely on the tooth’s biting surface to protect against further damage. Inlays are generally best suited for repairing larger cavities.

Until recently, gold was the material of choice for inlays. While gold is hard-wearing, it doesn’t consistently achieve the best aesthetic results.

Thanks to advances in modern dentistry, our team can now offer onlays in tooth-coloured porcelain. Porcelain onlays are incredibly hard-wearing and much more discrete than their gold counterparts.

Our inlay and onlays are produced in a dental laboratory by a clinical dental technician, using an impression of your teeth to achieve an accurate fit. We can provide a temporary onlay for you to wear while your permanent restoration is being produced.

Our laboratory uses CAD-CAM digital design and production, including the revolutionary CEREC porcelain milling machine. Using the latest digital techniques allows our laboratory to achieve stunning results with fewer appointments.
